Weird Kitty’s Christmas Cactus – A Strange and Serene Holiday Scene

This ink drawing captures my favorite strange character of mine - the weird kitty - celebrating Christmas in her own curious way. Instead of a pine tree, she finds joy beside a cactus decorated with glowing lights and a shining star.

The scene takes an odd turn: the cactus’s arms coil around her like vines, yet she stays calm, eyes closed, as if completely at peace within the chaos. It’s a mix of whimsy and quiet tension - a balance between beauty and the bizarre.

I love how this piece brings together contrasts: softness and spikes, light and darkness, calm and danger. It’s my take on the strange calmness we sometimes find in uncomfortable places - even during the holidays.
